We're surely due for some sun, but with a Bank holiday on the horizon who knows what the great British weather will do.
It's hotting up in Italy though and alfresco dining is well and truly back on the menu. Tables and chairs have lost their winter covers and waiters are tempting patrons and passers by with specialities of the season. White asapragus is out in Friuli, but not for long. 'Agnello' is served up all over and carrots are in their prime; perfect raw to accompany our home regions favourite - Bagna Cauda, a tasty garlic and anchovy based dip.
Let's keep those fingers crossed for perfect alfresco moments over the next few weeks.
Enjoy!
